Our founder, Stefan Jacobs, has a passion for quality coffee, respect for the coffee farmer and love for the planet, and has brought them together in one unique brand.

After successfully selling his company, De Digitale Boekhouders, in December 2022, Stefan started a new journey. He traveled to Bali in January 2023, where he visited various coffee plantations. It was during this journey that his love for coffee, and especially for the origin of the coffee bean, blossomed.

Stefan still vividly remembers the time he drank an espresso at Blacklist Coffee Roasters in Canggu, made from very special coffee beans from Colombia that were processed in a natural way. It was a taste experience like he had never had before, with flavors of mango, orange and chocolate. It was such a special experience that he still affectionately refers to it as his 'Godshot'. So this really was a “Fancy Bean”!

Inspired by this experience, Stefan founded Fancy Beans, a coffee brand that focuses on providing the highest quality coffee beans directly from the coffee farmers. Our beans are of the Specialty class, with a cupping score of 80+ and are freshly roasted to the perfect medium roast level. The natural sweetness of our coffee often makes additives such as sugar superfluous - a testament to the quality of our beans.

At Fancy Beans, we do more than just deliver excellent coffee. We also take the responsibility for our planet seriously. Our packaging is made of sustainable material and we choose to ship with a mail order company instead of our own vans to use. This helps us to reduce CO2 emissions and our ecological footprint reduce.
